In 2025, the Toyota RAV4 was the best-selling car in America, and its appeal grows stronger in 2026 with the launch of its new generation. The next-generation updates include improved tech, style updates, a new trim level, and new hybrid powertrains. What can you expect from the 2026 RAV4?
In 2026, the RAV4 is no longer available with gas powertrains Instead, every trim will come with either a hybrid engine or a plug-in hybrid system. In addition, the Toyota RAV4 Prime that was considered a separate model in 2025 is now integrated into the RAV4 line. The single-motor hybrid system comes with front-wheel drive and produces 226 combined horsepower. There is also an all-wheel drive hybrid engine that offers 236 combined horsepower. The plug-in hybrid engine has a 52-mile all-electric range and gives you 324 combined horsepower. It comes with GR-tuned handling with enhanced shocks, struts, springs, and power steering. All-wheel drive is standard. With the Woodland trim level, you can now enjoy a 3D multi-terrain monitor that allows you to see under the vehicle while off-roading. Adding to the 2026 RAV4's functionality is its 3,500-pound towing capacity.
The 2026 RAV4 has a new look with a taller roof and molded, squared-off wheel wells. The front end has a captivating design with a tall, cascading hood. The lower portion of the hood features the LED headlights, which have an LED bar surround on three sides. The large, black grille wraps around the nose from left to right for a powerful look. Some trims have up to 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires.
Inside the 2026 RAV4, you will find tech like a heads-up display, a 12.3-inch customizable digital display panel, a 12.9-inch multimedia screen, aluminum sport pedals, SofTex upholstery, the updated Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 technologies, and a panoramic sunroof.
