Performance

The 2024 Toyota Highlander's five trim levels come with the same powertrain. This is a turbo four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 265 horsepower. The engine links to an eight-speed auto transmission and is designed with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available for all trim levels. The Highlander Hybrid pairs a four-cylinder engine with a hybrid component, and this equipment delivers 243 horsepower. As is the case with the gas-powered Highlander, the Highlander Hybrid has a standard front-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive.

Appearance

The 2024 Highlander and the Highlander Hybrid are almost identical on the exterior. Smoothly molded accents define their look through the lower door panels that rise over the rear haunches. The nose shows off an A-frame grille that sits above a wider A-frame bumper. The grille has a chrome surround and large, pointed headlights with an LED bar lining the bottom. Both vehicles have a hands-free liftgate, roof rails, a sunroof, and other exterior gear.
