Performance
Three powertrains are available with the Toyota Tacoma. One of these is a 228-horsepower, turbocharged 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. It comes with rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission. You can also upgrade your Tacoma with low-range gearing four-wheel drive. A 278-horsepower version of this engine is also available. It is offered with an eight-speed auto transmission. If you prefer a six-speed manual transmission, the output is 270 horsepower. The 2025 Tacoma is also available with a 326-horsepower, hybrid i-Force Max system.
The entry-level engine available in the 2025 Tundra is a 389-horsepower, turbo 3.4-liter, V6 engine. You can choose an upgraded variation of this engine that pairs with an electric motor. With this engine, the Tundra benefits from 437 total horsepower. All Tundra trucks are available with a 10-speed auto transmission and standard rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional.
Appearance
The Tacoma’s personality is displayed through its expressive design. It has a commanding height with chiseled definition. Across the sides, the Tacoma has crisp accents on the door panels and flared fenders. A linear mesh pattern dresses up the hexagonal grille. Below the aggressively styled headlights, the air vents are stacked with linear accents.
The 2025 Toyota Tundra is a larger truck with stronger definition across the sides. The flared fenders are individualized with a squared-off shape. The thick bumper and tall grille form a cohesive unit that consumes most of the front end. The rectangular accents on the flanks are molded and support sharply cornered LED headlights.
Features
These Toyota trucks are available with many of the same features. These include adaptive cruise control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with wireless connections, a keyless ignition, auto climate control, a trailer camera, synthetic leather upholstery, a 14-inch touch display screen, a 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger and heated front seats.
The Tundra is also offered with a digital rear mirror, a household power outlet, a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen, a head-up display and premium leather upholstery.

1. Never tow beyond a vehicle's published towing capacities. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. Follow all instructions in your Owner's Manual.
2. Payload Capacity is the calculation of GVWR minus curb weight and should be used for comparison purposes only. The maximum amount of passenger and cargo weight your vehicle can carry is the Load Carrying Capacity indicated on the label(s) on the driver's doorjamb.
